†Joseph Walenty Paprocki (Walenty1), was born 18 December 1876 in Poland (Ger) and came to Rochester, New York in 1888 with his family. He married Rosalia Adamski 21 September 1902 in St Stanislaus Church. She was born August 1880 in Poland (Ger), the daughter of Paul Adamski and Josephine Kwiatonski. She came to Rochester, New York with her family in 1888.
Joseph first worked at 333 State Street for F.A. Brownell and the Eastman Kodak Co. Camera Works. On 7 April 1906 Joseph purchased the property at 540 Hudson Avenue (lot no. 126 of Block and Blauws subdivision) and the family moved from 145 St Stanislaus Street, where they were living with Joseph's parents. Joseph opened a grocery store at this location and Rosalia later took over the dry goods store which had been run by Joseph's mother Anna Paprocki. The grocery store became 1106 Hudson Avenue in 1909 when the street was renumbered. On 2 Feb 1922 Rosalia and Joseph purchased from Anna and Walenty the property at 1116 Hudson Avenue where they had already been living. The family attended St Stanislaus Kostka Church. Joseph and Rosalia donated one of 45 stained glass windows to the church, St Rose of Lima located along the North Aisle. Joseph was president of the Rochester Polish Falcons. He died 7 June 1949 at the age of 72 years. His body lied in state in Falcon Hall on the corner of Hudson Avenue and Weyl Street. Rosalia, who predeceased her husband, died 12 June 1941 at the age of 60 years. They are buried together in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. They had six children: | ||
