1.) John Fern (Julian Paprocki¹), was born, John Paprocki, 30 January 1876 in Poland (Ger) and came to Buffalo, New York in 1880 with his family. Moved to Dunkirk, New York. When? Changed his name to Fern. When? Where? He married Sophia Weiss 15 May 1900 in Dunkirk, New York. According to the Federal Census of 1920 John Fern, age 47 [sic], and family lived at 14 North Earmine [sic] Street, Dunkirk, New York. He owned his home free and clear. He worked as a molder in an Iron Works. He died 3 April 1963 in Illinois? They had six children:

i Helen Yolanda Fern (Yoland, age 16 Census 1920), b. 7 Aug 1903 in Dunkirk NY; m. Smith; d. 8 Sep 1963 in Los Angeles CA.

ii Theodore J Fern (age 15 Census 1920), b. 20 Feb 1905 in Dunkirk NY; d. 27 Apr 1965 In Riverside CA.

iii Leila H Fern (Lela, age 13 Census 1920), b. 11 Oct 1906 in Dunkirk NY; m. Thompson; s. 22 May 2000 in Quincy MA.

iv Robert Weiss Fern (age 12 Census 1920), b. 14 Feb 1908 in Dunkirk NY.

v Shirley Fern (age 11 Census 1920), b. 17 Mar 1909 in Dunkirk NY.

iv Eugene Beverly Fern (Bederley, age 9 Census 1920), b. 11 Jul 1911 in Dunkirk NY; d. 24 Mar 1983 in Santa Clara CA.
